We planted the vines<\/strong> were between 2005 and 2006.
To achieve the highest quality<\/strong>, low yields<\/strong> per vine and a natural balance<\/strong>, we planted at\u00a0high density<\/strong>, with the spacing of 1,80×0,80 mt to reach nearly 7000 plants per hectare.<\/p>\n

Regarding the variety<\/strong> our terroir<\/strong> instinctively inspired us in two directions<\/strong>. Sangiovese<\/strong> and\u00a0Vermentino<\/strong> as traditional<\/strong>\u00a0grapes of these areas, Cabernet Franc<\/strong>, Syrah<\/strong> and Viognier<\/strong> as\u00a0international<\/strong>, with the addition of Alicante Bouschet<\/strong>, which is traditionally and often used in\u00a0Maremma<\/strong>.
The vineyards<\/strong> despite being in one body, are located on three different adjacent hills,\u00a0which stretch in a line from north to south, in a unique humpback. This allowed us to\u00a0choose sides and different exposures when planting.<\/p>\n

Vineyard of\u00a0Borea<\/strong> 1,3 ha.\u00a0Along the slope, facing north-east all dedicated the Viognier. The\u00a0land is particularly mineral and stony, it warms during the day, and then cool down sharply\u00a0at night, where benefits of the cold breeze from the north, typical of the strong thermal\u00a0inversions that characterize\u00a0the summers here in Barbiconi. The exposition itself tends to\u00a0slow the early ripening of Viognier. We chose a mass selection, directly selected in\u00a0Condrieu.<\/p>\n

Vineyard of\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0Piche<\/strong> 3,5 ha. Located on the second hill, surround the winery. From the crest of the slope degrades west, south-west. Here are the vines of Sangiovese and Syrah, pruducing the grapes for the blend Fillide, and all the Cabernet Franc and a part of Vermentino.<\/p>\n

Vineyard of\u00a0<\/strong>Levante<\/strong> 0,4 ha.\u00a0At the extreme east of the property is a small vineyard of Syrah.\u00a0The slope gently sloping south-west.<\/p>\n

Vineyard of the\u00a0<\/strong>gladioli<\/strong> 1 ha.\u00a0Covers the east slope of the third and south hill. The vineyard from\u00a0the crest down the slope exposed just to the east. Here is Alicante Bouchet and a part of\u00a0Vermentino. In the spring between the rows bloom many wild gladioli, that color of pink the\u00a0field.<\/p>\n

Vineyard\u00a0Romano<\/strong> 2 ha.\u00a0The vineyards are located on the slope facing southwest. Here\u00a0are the selection of vines of Sangiovese becoming Ciparisso and the selection of Syrah\u00a0becomeing Pitis. Is starting from this point that soils are even more stony and limestone-\u00a0rich.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Vineyard of<\/strong>\u00a0Punta<\/strong> 1 ha.\u00a0Sunny, and adjacent to the Vineyard Romano is flanked by\u00a0forest. It is also characterized by extremely stony and limestone soils, is divided between\u00a0Vermentino and Syrah that becomes Pitis.<\/p>\n

Vineyard of the\u00a0Travicelli<\/strong> 1 ha.\u00a0Leaning against the of the hill of Travicelli is entirely dedicated\u00a0to the Vermentino. Long and narrow is always breezy and take advatage from the night\u00a0cold air that comes directly from the woods around.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
